Genevieve von Petzinger (University of Victoria) "Signs, Symbols and the Paleolithic Origins of Graphic Communication" Genevieve von Petzinger is a Canadian paleoanthropologist and rock art researcher who studies Paleolithic imagery and the origins of graphic communication. Genevieve's specific focus is on the geometric signs found at many of these early rock art sites, and she's interested in how these enigmatic markings can help us better understand the movement of people and ideas, as well as the development of symbolic thought, writing and the modern mind during this early chapter in human prehistory
